Decluttering More Than What You Can See 👀

When we think about de-cluttering we tend to think of our physical environment. Cleaning out drawers, closets and purging. I began the process of decluttering my physical space earlier this year and once I was done I felt as though there was more decluttering I needed to do. So from there, I got into reading books on minimalism…more intense de-cluttering and living in a more efficient way. However, after implementing minimalist practices I still felt like something was not right.

After doing some soul-searching and clearing distractions so I could focus, I realized I had some emotional decluttering to do 😳. I thought: “Wow, I’ve been carrying this emotional baggage around with me for years without realizing it was there!” It was hard for me to see it because I’m a positive, optimistic, “always happy” kind of person. But…like it or not, this emotional baggage I was carrying around was negatively impacting my closest relationship—my relationship with my spouse.

Once I realized all of this, I was able to begin to “do the work” (as Iyanla Vanzant says ❤️). I began working on forgiveness. And although I’m still in the process; I’ve been able to reach my happiest time in life which is now!!! It’s amazing and it’s only going to get better!

I encourage you to clear your life of distractions so you can start focusing and hearing God’s voice. This process is spiritually amazing. For those of you who are intimidated by words like “spiritual”, keep reading 🧐Get down to your emotional clutter and start working to clear it. We owe it to ourselves and to our children. You have to be at your best in order to give your best.

In closing, I want you to know this post hits close to my heart because I’ve discovered something that has allowed me to reach my happiest point in life so I’m sharing it with you. It would truly be a disservice to our Heavenly Father if I did not. We’ve all heard of emotional baggage but most of us don’t have an approach or process aimed at helping us deal with it. Now, I do realize some of us are struggling with deeper issues that can’t be handled without assistance and for those cases I urge you to seek professional help.

Seek God’s help along this journey and get started my blog family!!! Share this with as many people as you can. God bless!

Please remember to post a comment to let me know how your decluttering process is going. Learning from one another is a gift. A Frantic Mom 💜
